The Angels optioned Paris to Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday. Paris went just 5-for-23 at the dish over 12 games this spring. The 22-year-old skipped over Salt Lake when he was promoted last season but will head to the Angels' top affiliate to begin the 2024 campaign.... See More ... See Less

Angels' Kyren Paris: Starting Friday
Paris (thumb) is starting at second base and batting ninth in Friday's Cactus League game against the Padres. Paris underwent thumb surgery late last season but is fully healthy heading into 2024. The 22-year-old went 4-for-40 in his first taste of the majors last year and is 1-for-8 through four games in spring training.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Kyren Paris: Placed on 60-day IL
Paris was moved to the 60-day injured list Monday due to a ligament tear in his left thumb. Paris was brought up Friday from Triple-A Salt Lake to get some opportunities in the big leagues, but he was sent for further evaluation Monday after injuring his left thumb. This diagnosis will force him to miss the remainder of the 2023 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Kyren Paris: Scratched with thumb issue
Paris was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Tigers with left thumb soreness. Paris was poised to make his second consecutive start but was instead a late scratch due to the thumb injury. Zach Neto will join the starting nine after initially being slated for a day off.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Kyren Paris: Recalled from Salt Lake
The Angels recalled Paris from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday. Paris returns 24 hours after being optioned with Mike Moustakas (forearm) hitting the 10-day injured list. The versatile 21-year-old Paris has gone just 3-for-32 (.094) through his first 13 major-league games but could see fairly regular starts down the stretch as the Angels look ahead to 2024.... Angels' Kyren Paris: Optioned to Triple-A
The Angels optioned Paris to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday. Paris earned a Sept. 1 call-up from Double-A Rocket City, where he had posted an .810 OPS with 14 homers and 44 steals through 113 games this season. He'll now head to the Triple-A level, and maybe finish the year there, after going 3-for-32 (.094) with zero extra-base hits and 12 strikeouts across his first 13 big-league games.... See More ... Angels' Kyren Paris: Getting look in center field
Paris will start in center field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Mariners. Paris is a natural middle infielder and had started at shortstop in nine of the Angels' first 10 games of September, but he lost hold of his everyday role when Zach Neto was activated from the 10-day injured list Sunday. Though Paris was held out of the lineup for the past two games and is slashing just .103/.235/.103 through 35 plate appearances in the majors, the Angels are still eager to give him a look over the final few weeks of the season. To that end, Paris will pick up his first professional start in center field Wednesday while the Angels remain without the services of Mike Trout (wrist) and Mickey Moniak (back).... See More ... Angels' Kyren Paris: Tallies two thefts Thursday
Paris went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run, an RBI and two stolen bases in a 3-2 win against the Guardians on Thursday. Paris was active in the contest, walking and stealing a base in the third inning and adding another theft after reaching on an error in the fifth. The rookie then came up with arguably his biggest big-league hit to date in the ninth, tying the score with a clutch one-out single and subsequently crossing the plate for the winning run on a Randal Grichuk base hit. Paris has gone just 2-for-16 over his first seven major-league contests, though he's added four walks and three stolen bases.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Kyren Paris: Promotion official
The Angels selected Paris' contract from Double-A Rocket City on Friday. A second-round pick in the 2019 MLB Draft out of a California high school, Paris has earned his first major-league promotion after slashing .255/.393/.417 with 14 homers and 44 steals in 113 games this summer at the Double-A level. The 21-year-old middle infielder should get fairly regular starts with the Angels down the stretch as they look ahead to 2024 and beyond.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Kyren Paris: Sent to minors camp
Paris was reassigned to the Angels' minor-league camp on Wednesday. Paris held his own during Cactus League play, posting a .278/.381/.500 slash line with a double, a triple, four runs and a team-leading seven RBI over 21 plate appearances. However, he's yet to play above the Double-A level, so he was never likely to earn a big-league roster spot out of camp. Paris is just 21 years old, but he could make his major-league debut in the next season or two.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Kyren Paris: Advances to Double-A
The Angels promoted Paris from High-A Tri-City to Double-A Rocket City on Tuesday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports. Paris will fill the roster spot vacated by outfielder/first baseman Ryan Aguilar, who was recently elevated to the majors as a COVID-19 replacement before being sent to Triple-A Salt Lake this week. Over 391 plate appearances at Tri-City this season, the 20-year-old Paris slashed .229/.345/.387 with eight home runs and 28 stolen bases.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Kyren Paris: Rehabbing fractured fibula
Paris is rehabbing a non-displaced fracture in his fibula and could return to Low-A Inland Empire in the coming days, Kyle Glaser of Baseball America reports. He was having a breakout season prior to suffering the injury in late-May, slashing .297/.423/.516 with zero home runs and 10 steals on 13 attempts in 78 plate appearances. Paris is a 70-grade runner with a chance to develop fringe-average power. He is hitting .357 through five rehab games in the Arizona Complex League.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Kyren Paris: Added to Angels pool
Paris joined the Angels' player pool Monday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. This appears to be nothing more than a developmental move for the 18-year-old, who was taken in the second round of the 2019 draft. He's played just three professional games, all at the rookie ball level.... See More ... See Less
