Through 3 Quarters

Down four at the end of last quarter, the Portland Trail Blazers have now snagged the lead. Either team is in a position to win, but they lead against the Boston Celtics 83-82.

The Trail Blazers have been led by center Jusuf Nurkic, who so far has posted a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds in addition to four dimes. This makes it four consecutive games in which Nurkic has had at least ten rebounds.

Boston has been relying on shooting guard Jaylen Brown, who has 20 points and five assists along with four boards, and small forward Jayson Tatum, who has 20 points and four assists along with seven boards.

Boston hasn't lost 85% of the games in which they were down heading into the final period this season, so a victory here would be refreshing.

What to Know

The Portland Trail Blazers' road trip will continue as they head to TD Garden at 7:30 p.m. ET Friday to face off against the Boston Celtics. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'

Portland ended up a good deal behind the Miami Heat when they played on Wednesday, losing 104-92. The Trail Blazers' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of shooting guard Anfernee Simons, who shot 6-for-14 from beyond the arc and finished with 27 points and seven assists, and center Jusuf Nurkic, who posted a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Nurkic has had at least 14 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Boston came up short against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, falling 111-102. Small forward Jayson Tatum wasn't much of a difference maker for Boston; Tatum played for 35 minutes with 5-for-19 shooting.

Portland is expected to lose this next one by 8. Those betting on them against the spread shouldn't have high expectations for them since the team is 5-11 ATS when expected to lose.

Portland suffered a grim 145-117 defeat to the Celtics in the teams' previous meeting last December. Can the Trail Blazers avenge their loss, or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll soon find out.
