Cleveland Cavaliers star Iman Shumpert hasn't had much luck getting on the court, missing the start of the season with a wrist injury and then suffering a groin strain this week. Off the court, though, he's had the best news he could get as he and his wife delivered their daughter Wednesday. And when I say "they delivered," I mean it, because there wasn't time to get wife Teyana Taylor to a hospital, so Shumpert delivered the kiddo himself.

Iman Shumpert sprung into the role of OBGYN Wednesday -- when his wife went into labor in their home ... and the NBA star delivered the kid right in their home bathroom!!!
R&B superstar Teyana Taylor says she had no idea she was in labor until she felt the child's head making it's way out of her around 6 AM.
"It took two ten count pushes with my fiancé playing Dr and she entered this world into his bare hands!"
Teyana says the Cleveland Cavs star was on the phone with the emergency operator who walked him through the process -- and he used a pair of red headphones to tie the umbilical cord (since they didn't have a medical grade clamp). As for the baby, "She opened her eyes right away, gazed into mine and never cried!"
"She has blown Christmas away! Our family is complete. Her blueprint will be unmatched. Welcome Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr. Mommy carried you. Daddy delivered you."

Few things:
1. Way to go, Teyana. She did the hard work, which is not what will be talked about in all the postings on this today.
2. Way to go, Iman. That's an incredibly intense experience and taking charge and getting that done is straight up heroism.
3. I would never have thought to use the headphones as a clamp. Ever. I would have waited for an ambulance with a kid attached or been searching for something that would not work at all.
4. He named his daughter Iman Jr. Not like Iman can't be a girl's name, it's just really remarkable that he did that. A lot of players go for the "Jr." thing, just rarely with a girl. Iman Shumpert and family: breaking gender norms.
