A lot of cities and teams have found ways to give Kobe Bryant gifts during his final appearance as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers in their respective buildings. I'm not sure any gift could have been as rewarding to Kobe as getting to thank Hakeem Olajuwon after Bryant's final game in Houston on Sunday.

After the game, Bryant was walking around the court before he spotted Olajuwon walking toward him. Kobe immediately raised his arms, made a quick move toward Hakeem, and gave him a hug. They got to share a very cool moment with two of the greatest players ever celebrating each other's careers.

So what did Kobe and Hakeem talk about? As you may remember, back in 2009 on his way to another championship, Kobe sought out some help from The Dream. Hakeem was infamously helping players work on their footwork in the post and some of the finer points of post play. Mostly, you saw big men spending time with Olajuwon to try to extract any greatness and knowledge they could apply to the game.

Bryant was one of the few non-big men to do this as well. As the athleticism for Kobe was declining, he needed those tricks of the trade to set up defenders and take advantage of their mistakes. Olajuwon helped him out and Bryant greatly benefited from the tips and knowledge. Kobe said after the game Sunday that he just wanted to thank Hakeem for his generosity. He also hopes the younger generation realizes just how great Olajuwon was.

The audio is a little hollow on the video, so here's what he said:

"Thank you. I watched Hakeem so much growing up -- so much of him. Then t be able to come out here and him being generous enough with his time and spend the entire day with him in his house working on footwork, going over every detail in the post. Sharing his knowledge with me. Hopefully this generation understands how great he was. Hopefully they go back and watch and appreciate his greatness. I just wanted to thank him."

Here's a quick crash course in some of Hakeem's awesomeness:

Now, go watch another couple hours of this stuff on YouTube. It's some of the best stuff you can watch on the Internet.
