Before the Los Angeles Lakers played the Utah Jazz on Wednesday, veteran forward Brandon Bass had a plan to celebrate Kobe Bryant's last career game. Bass' plan was simple: spray Kobe with champagne afterwards.

And with the rest of the veterans on the team in on the plan, Bass had the team's locker room attendants gather the champagne for a post game celebration.

"It was like a party," Bass told reporters on Thursday about the celebration. "I got with Metta (World Peace) and Lou (Williams) and thought that we should get some champagne and shower Kobe. I didn't know he would be so hot that he would need it. But we definitely wanted to celebrate a little bit. It wasn't no long drawn out plan. I just thought it and waited till the vets came in. That's it. I got with one of the assistant equipment managers and they took care of it for me.

Bryant reportedly told the Lakers, that champagne was only for championships. But Bass said, Bryant really enjoyed the whole celebration.

"I didn't know how he was going to take it," Said Bass. "I thought he was going to be like get those [expletive] bottles away from me. But he embraced it. He got excited seeing us, seeing the champagne and us pouring it on him. He got excited about it."

And why wouldn't Bryant be excited about celebrating with his teammates? He ended his career on an incredible high note, scoring 60 points, essentially writing his own storybook ending to a magnificent 20-year career.
