The Memphis Grizzlies may have found their man.

Yahoo Sports reports that the Memphis Grizzlies have offered their coaching position to Miami Heat assistant coach David Fizdale. The two are reportedly advancing on contract talks with the hopes of a deal being done in the next day or so.

Fizdale, 41, has been an NBA assistant coach for the past 14 seasons, and lead assistant in Miami during their NBA championship runs with LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade. His name has been constantly mentioned for coaching vacancies but he always resisted overtures.

Dwyane Wade took to Twitter to voice his support for his long-time assistant coach Wednesday:

Fizdale is widely respected and brings the Grizzlies a respectable hire after missing out on Frank Vogel, who elected to take the Magic job instead. How he handles a roster that seems in transition will be his first challenge. Fizdale takes over for Dave Joerger, who the franchise parted ways with after a year of acrimony and frustration. Joerger was hired by the Kings earlier this month.
