Michael Jordan's playing days are long over, but the six-time NBA champion and Basketball Hall of Famer is still setting records. The highest-graded ticket stub from Jordan's NBA sold for $264,000 at Huggins & Scott Auctions on Friday, the most ever for a collectible sports ticket.

The Chicago Bulls' third overall pick in 1984, Jordan made his NBA debut against the Washington Bullets on Oct. 26 that year. Jordan – who won two Wooden Awards and a NCAA Championship at North Carolina – recorded 16 points, seven assists, six rebounds and four blocks in a 109-93 win over the Washington at the since-demolished Chicago Stadium.

The $264,000 sale includes a 20% buyer's premium, a price so high it would've surpassed the next most expensive ticket without the premium. A ticket stub from Game 3 of the first ever World Series in 1903 – a  4-2 Pittsburgh Pirates win over the Boston Americans – sold for a then-record $175,000 in October.

This isn't the first time Jordan's memorabilia reached record-breaking heights. A pair of game-worn sneakers from the 14-time All-Star's rookie season sold for $1.472 million in October, shattering his own record for the most expensive game-worn footwear.

Jordan, 58, last played in the NBA in 2003 and now owns the NBA's Charlotte Hornets and NASCAR's 23XI Racing team.
