If you're sad about the way Kobe Bryant is playing or the fact he's retiring at the end of the season, here's a throwback for you: After his first start in the NBA, he told legendary Los Angeles Lakers broadcaster Chick Hearn what it felt like to have some real responsibility as a professional:

Bryant was just 19 years old then, and now he's 37. Some thoughts:

1) Imagine, today, if someone asked Bryant whether or not he likes pressure.

2) He said he hadn't talked to Magic Johnson yet!

3) He sounds pretty mature for a kid, right?

4) Kobe calling Shaquille O'Neal his older brother is totally normal and there's nothing funny about that in retrospect at all.
