There's a lot of talent at the 2013 Senior Bowl that should dominate the second and third rounds, with a few first-round guys as well.

I talked with Georgia safety Bacarri Rambo and it didn't sound like he was going to be able to play much with a hamstring injury. That opens up the door for JJ Wilcox from Georgia Southern to get a lot more work.  Wilcox is a unique athlete who spent one year as a wide receiver, two years as a running back and just one year at safety. He could make some big strides in convincing NFL people he can do the job with the extra work he should get.

A couple of good cornerbacks in Mobile this week need to show they have great long speed. I really like the quickness, football intelligence and the short route coverage of Jordan Poyer (Oregon State), Desmond Trufant (Washington) and Jamar Taylor (Boise State) and it's important they show speed to close on the deep routes.

One of the most impressive interviews I had this week was with Datone Jones from UCLA. The big defensive lineman can play end or tackle with equal success. At 6'4 and 280 lbs., he could easily get close to 300 in a year or two. He has impressive weight room numbers with three reps at 360 in the power clean, and two reps at 420 on the bench. Keep your eye on Jones (No. 57) for the North team.

Big left tackle David Quessenberry of San Jose State stopped by to talk about what he learned this week. There's no doubt the former walk-on has impressed the offensive line coaches in Mobile this week. One coach said his hand usage is already at an NFL level. He carries his hands low and punches up through the defender. He also has the NFL holding down to a science when he gets his hands inside on the pass rusher. He can play anywhere across the front and is going to be a steal for some team.

Eric Fisher, the outstanding left tackle from Central Michigan, will play a series or two in the game Saturday, which is a tribute to his attitude.

Finally there's Brandon Williams, a young man that struggled a lot early in the week to the point he didn't look like he belonged here. Williams was on the ground Monday but was a force by Thursday. He told me he went back to his room Monday night and decided to do a better job for his mom and 3-month-old son. He's got a fan in me after he recounted how his mother and brother lived in a car for a period of time when things were tough.
