Bears WR Domenik Hixon tears ACL for 3rd time
It sounds like Bears receiver Domenik Hixon is thinking about ending his career.
"I'm disappointed that I won't be playing for a bears team that has the players and coaches to WIN the Super Bowl," Hixon wrote. "I thank God for letting me live my dream of playing in the NFL for 8 years plus. It has truly been FUN! #blessed #lovethisgame"
While Hixon didn't explicitly announce his retirement, it sounds like he's thinking about ending his career nonetheless.
He spent the majority of his career with the Giants, winning two Super Bowl rings in the process, and he recorded his best season in 2008, catching 43 passes for 596 yards and two touchdowns. He also managed 39 receptions for 567 yards and two scores in 2012, his final season in New York. Hixon played the 2013 season with the Panthers but only made seven catches in 15 games (he was productive on special teams, though).
In March, Hixon and the Bears agreed to a one-year deal worth $740,000.
