Bills vs. Patriots: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game

3rd Quarter Report

The Bills already have more points against the Patriots than they managed in total against the Chargers last Saturday. The Bills have a bit of a cushion as they currently lead the Patriots 27-14.

The Bills entered the match having won three straight and they're just one quarter away from another. Will they make it four, or will the Patriots step up and spoil it? We'll know soon.

Preview

The Patriots fans better hope the squad plays one heck of a game on Sunday as the odds are decidedly against them. They will head out on the road to face off against the Buffalo Bills at 1:00 p.m. ET at Highmark Stadium. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

New England gave up the first points last Sunday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged the Broncos out 26-23.

Bailey Zappe was the offensive standout of the match as he threw for 256 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75.8% of his passes. His posted a season-high passer rating of 117.7. The Patriots also relied on Chad Ryland, whose 56-yard boot in the fourth quarter wound up being the difference in the game.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to the Patriots' defense and their five sacks. In that department, Christian Barmore was the leader with three sacks.

Meanwhile, Buffalo had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 24-22 win from a begrudging Billssquad. The overall outcome was as expected, but Los Angeles made it much more of a contest than the oddsmakers had predicted.

The Bills can attribute much of their success to Gabe Davis, who picked up 130 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Josh Allen, who rushed for 15 yards and two touchdowns. Davis made the highlight reel thanks to a 57-yard receiving touchdown in the second quarter.

The Bills were down by one with only five minutes and 26 seconds left when they drove 93 yards for the winning score. Tyler Bass did the honors with a 29-yard field goal.

New England's victory bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Buffalo, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.
