Here are some news and notes from around the Arizona Cardinals ...

  • With a patchwork offensive line showing its wear, the Cardinals are looking outside. Former Chicago first-round pick, offensive lineman Chris Williams, is considering Arizona after being released by the Bears, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reported. Williams, who is also considering the Philadelphia Eagles, could help bolster a unit that has surrendered 23 sacks in three games.

  • John Skelton is back working out the rust, but even oil might not help his wheels too much, he admits. Skelton resumes his role as starting quarterback this week against Minnesota, Craig Morgan of Fox Sports Arizona writes, and he knows the pressure he'll be under.

  • O'Brien Schofield is starting to get a big fan: O'Brien Schofield. The third-year linebacker, who had two sacks against Buffalo in the Cardinals' loss, is finally appreciating his ability, writes Josh Weinfuss of AZCardinals.com.

  • Going back to Minnesota isn't just an average road trip for Larry FitzgeraldDarren Urban of AZCardinals.com writes

  • Schofield and Darnell Dockett returned to practice in full after three weeks of limited time, Weinfuss writes. Their impact needs to be felt against a Minnesota offense that has looked surprisingly efficient and helped the Vikings to a 4-2 start.

  • It's been a long road for Paris Lenon, but he's not complaining, Morgan writes.
