Because the Lions made the economic decision not to place a franchise tag on Ndamukong Suh, the defensive tackle is going to hit free agency and make a pile of cash. Everyone knows this.

Including some Lions fans who put up billboards on I-75 near Detroit which, as taken by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free-Press, show a dollar sign in place of the "S" in Suh.

What's weird about these billboards is they don't really make any sense. Are Lions fans accusing Suh of making a cash grab? Because he should! Are they mad about the Lions mismanagement of money and the resulting Suh departure? That's fair maybe. Or do they want Detroit to spend on Suh? That's cool but he's going to cost a LOT of money.

The question mark is so vague and confusing.

The sales manager of Outfront, the outdoor billboard company running the ads, told Birkett the same group that paid for "Detroit Lyin'" billboards after the Lions fell to the Cowboys in controversial fashion during the playoffs paid for these.

"All I can tell you is there are multiple digital billboards out there right now," Bob Brown said.

The larger point looms: Suh is going to be a very rich man in a couple weeks.
