At one point on Monday night, one of the refs called out "No. 25" on Green Bay for a penalty. That used to be Ryan Grant, but he's a free agent now. Or used to be: CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports that Grant is signing with the Redskins.

Grant worked out for the Bears on Tuesday, La Canfora reports, and mulled offers from both Chicago and Washington before deciding on the Skins, who could have a need at running back with Evan Royster and Roy Helu both sustaining injuries.

The Packers released Grant following the 2011 season that saw him not come back very strong from a 2010 injury. Grant rushed for 559 yards on 134 carries over the course of 15 games (14 starts) and simply wasn't that effective.

He suffered an injury during the first week of the season in 2010 after compiling back-to-back 1,200-plus yards on the ground in 2008 and 2009.
