As expected, Vikings WR Percy Harvin (ankle), RB Adrian Peterson (illness) and Letroy Guion (turf toe) did not practice on Thursday. What wasn’t expected is that they all could be on the field Friday.
“We hope to see those guys tomorrow in practice,” coach Leslie Frazier said after Thursday’s practice. “We’ll see how things go [Friday].”
For Peterson, that is a distinct possibility. He's suffering from a flu-like stomach illnesss. He came to Winter Park and left for home before practice. It's conceivable that he might get through it in 24 hours and be back on the practice field.
For Harvin, that possibility seems more distant. After suffering a left ankle sprain in three different places against the Seahawks, Harvin showed up in the locker room on Monday on crutches. He was seen in the locker room Thursday without crutches, but he was moving slowly. With a bye week coming up after the game, it might make sense for Harvin to sit out and get a two-week rest, but Frazier doesn’t look at that way.
“If he can go, we’d play him and rest him after the game,” Frazier said. “So we’ll see how he does [Friday] and make the determination and see if he is well enough to [play] without putting himself in harm’s way."
The following players were limited at practice: FB Jerome Felton (shoulder), LT Matt Kalil (knee) and CB Antoine Winfield (knee). Listed on the injury report but participating fully: TE John Carlson (concussion), P Chris Kluwe (left knee), S Mistral Raymond (ankle), S Jamarca Sanford and WR Jerome Simpson (calf).
