-- New Netscape technology allows users to have the latest sports news
and information pushed to their desktop --

Ft. Lauderdale, FL, (June 30, 1997) -- Sports fans around the world can now keep up with the latest sports news, information and scores right from their computer desktop, without having to go online. CBS SportsLine today announced the launch of CBS SportsLine for Netscape Netcaster, a new content "channel" available exclusively on the beta version of the Netscape® Netcaster Channel Finder.

The Netcaster is the new component of Netscape® Communicator client software that enables "push" delivery of information to consumers. Users of Netscape Communicator Netcaster can subscribe to dynamic Web content called channels and may browse these channels and Web sites offline, right from their desktop. Users who select the CBS SportsLine for Netscape Netcaster will have late breaking access to the latest sports stories and scores. Embedded in the channel content are hyperlinks that when activated, launch a browser allowing users to surf CBS SportsLine, the most comprehensive sports site on the Internet.

"CBS SportsLine is committed to providing sports fans with the very latest sports news and information, which is why we created this channel. Fans want immediate access to the latest news and information and appreciate the convenience of not having to go online every time they want an update. We expect ours to be one of the Netscape Netcaster’s most popular channels and also an effective vehicle for building our brand and driving traffic to our site," said Michael Levy SportsLine CEO.

CBS SportsLine for Netscape Netcaster is just one example of CBS SportsLine’s commitment to providing sports fans worldwide with convenient access to the latest sports news and information.
