The coaching vacancy at Chattanooga is now down to just three candidates -- VCU assistant Will Wade, Alabama assistant John Brannen and former Georgia coach Dennis Felton, multiple sources told CBSSports.com.

The hiring of one of those coaches could come any day.

Chattanooga's coaching search has been going on since March 20, when the school fired John Shulman after nine seasons.

Several men beyond the ones mentioned above were also involved with the search at one point or another, among them Miami assistant Eric Konkol, Wichita State assistant Chris Jans and former Mississippi State coach Rick Stansbury, sources told CBSSports.com. But, the sources said, it's now down to three -- just Wade, Brannen and Felton, the last of whom coached Georgia from 2003 to 2009.
