On the eve of the 2013-14 season tipping off, the status of one of LSU’s freshman is still up in the air.

The Tigers are awaiting an NCAA decision regarding the eligibility of forward Brian Bridgewater, the school confirmed Thursday morning.

Bridgewater, a three-star forward from Scotlandville (La.), has not practiced with the team and did not appear in LSU’s exhibition win over Xavier (La.) on Wednesday night.

“We’re still in the appeal process with him,” head coach Johnny Jones said at a recent press conference. “Although we’re in school and getting close to the season starting, we’re still hopeful that we will get some good news from the powers-that-be at any time. As of right now, he’s just enrolled in school and not able to practice.”

LSU opens its season next Tuesday against Massachusetts.
