Astros' Ronnie Dawson: Drafted by Astros with 61st overall pick

The Astros have selected Dawson with the 61st overall pick in the 2016 first-year player draft.

The 21-year-old Ohio State product offers intriguing offensive tools, including big-time raw power and solid speed -- although he may only be an average runner, or a tick below, in a few years as his musclebound 6-foot-2, 225-pound frame will inevitably slow down as he continues to mature. The hit tool is pretty questionable, as are his instincts in the outfield, so he could move fairly slowly up the organizational ladder, especially compared to other college bats.
