The Athletics selected Lucas' contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Lucas was removed from the 40-man roster over the offseason but earned his way back to Oakland by posting a 2.87 ERA and 13:8 K:BB over 15.2 innings this season with Las Vegas. He will give manager Mark Kotsay some left-handed relief help.
