The combination of Nogowski's power and discerning eye at the plate could lead to him making the Cardinals' active roster at some point during the 2020 season, Mark Saxon of The Athletic reports.

The long-time minor-leaguer is already in the 60-man player pool and comes into summer camp with a head of steam, having hit .295 or better in each of his last four professional stops. Moreover, Nogowski has displayed a penchant for elite contact rates and an above-average eye at the plate, traits that led to the 27-year-old posting on-base percentages of no less than .378 in each of those stints. Nogowski also slugged a total of 27 home runs across the 200 minor-league games he logged over the last two seasons between Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis, newfound power that only enhances his already-impressive toolbox. Given his versatile skill set at the plate, Saxon sees Nogowski having a legitimate opportunity of making his major-league debut at some point during the 2020 campaign.
