Walker was placed on the 7-day minor-league injured list with Low-A Palm Beach on Friday.
The Cardinals didn't provide a reason for the move. Walker didn't get into any game action after being selected in the first round of last year's draft due to the canceled minor-league schedule, but he's looked great through his first 13 games for Palm Beach, hitting .333/.474/.600 with a pair of homers.
