Martinez will start at first base and bat cleanup Sunday against the Giants.

A combination of injuries and manager Mike Matheny opting to rest players will allow Martinez to pick up his third start in four contests, and his second straight at first base with Matt Carpenter resting. With a .855 OPS in 215 plate appearances this season, Martinez has acquitted himself well in a part-time role and could carry some intrigue in DFS contests Sunday. However, his appeal in season-long leagues is limited mainly to NL-only formats or deeper mixed settings, unless Carpenter or one of the team's outfielders falls victim to a longer-term setback.
