Holland was acquired by the Cubs from the Giants for cash considerations Friday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Holland was designated for assignment by the Giants on Sunday, and the Cubs opted to acquire him via trade rather than risk a potential waiver claim. The 32-year-old has allowed a .471 OPS versus lefties this season and seems likely to be utilized primarily against them with Chicago.
