The 26-year-old was sent to Triple-A Iowa on Monday but returned to the majors a day later after Adbert Alzolay (finger) landed on the injured list. Stewart made his second start for the Cubs last weekend and gave up three runs over 3.2 innings after allowing only an unearned run across five frames in his season debut.
