The Dodgers have traded first baseman Michael Morse and cash considerations to the Pirates. In exchange, the Dodgers will receive outfielder Jose Tabata , CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman reports.
Morse was acquired by the Dodgers from the Marlins in a three-team deal on Thursday and was subsequentley desginated for assignment.
Tabata was currently playing with Triple-A Indianapolis for the Pirates. He did spend 27 games with the big club earlier this year, batting .289 in 38 at-bats.
Neither team has officially announced the deal as of yet.
