Snider was released by the Royals on Sunday, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
Snider had been rather subpar at Triple-A Omaha this season, posting a .245/.340/.350 line and a 19.6 percent strikeout rate. Snider has played plenty of games in the show, but has yet to show the ability to excel in the MLB, as his career line is .244/.311/.399.
