  • Rockies' Julio Carreras: Unclaimed and outrighted

    Carreras was outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports. Carreras will remain in the organization after going unclaimed off waivers when the Rockies designated him for assignment Sunday. The 24-year-old has struggled all season at Albuquerque, batting .181 with a .515 OPS across 38 games.

  • Rockies' Julio Carreras: DFA'd by Colorado

    Carreras was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Sunday, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports. The 24-year-old was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque in mid-March and has now lost his place on the 40-man roster. Carreras has struggled to a .515 OPS and 32.9 percent strikeout rate through 38 games with the Isotopes this season.

    Carreras (undisclosed) has gone 5-for-20 with three runs and three RBI in five games since being reinstated from Double-A Hartford's 7-day injured list May 17. Carreras missed just under a month due to the unspecified injury.   • Rockies' Julio Carreras: On injured list at Double-A

    Double-A Hartford placed Carreras on the 7-day injured list April 25 with an unspecified injury. He hadn't played since April 22 before landing on the IL. Carreras hit .271 with a .364 on-base percentage, two home runs and three steals in 56 plate appearances prior to suffering the injury. The Rockies added the 23-year-old shortstop to the 40-man roster back in November to protect him from being selected during the Rule 5 draft.
