Angels' Hector Yan: DFA'd by Halos
Yan was designated for assignment by the Angels on Monday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. Yan spent most of the 2021 campaign at High-A Tri-City and posted a 5.25 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 82.1 innings across 20 appearances (16 starts). Angels' Hector Yan: Experiences velocity drop
Yan's velocity was down during camp this spring, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. Yan was optioned by the Angels on Wednesday after one rough Cactus League outing. Manager Joe Maddon discussed the southpaw Thursday, suggesting that the organization is unsure of the reason for his dip in velocity. Yan was optioned by the Angels on Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Yan was not in contention for an Opening Day roster spot and is the team's first cut this spring. Angels' Hector Yan: Optioned to High-A
Yan was optioned to High-A Inland Empire on Tuesday. Yan got to spend some time in big-league camp this spring but was never under consideration for a roster spot. He's yet to pitch above Low-A, but performed well at that level in 20 starts and six relief appearances for Burlington, posting a 3.39 ERA and a 32.3 percent strikeout rate.
