Harrington opened the season on the shelf due to a right rotator cuff strain but has been given the green light to join the Pirates' Eastern League affiliate after one rehab start with Single-A Bradenton. Harrington (shoulder) has been sent to Single-A Bradenton to begin a rehab assignment, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Harrington has been sidelined since late March with a right rotator cuff strain and is finally ready to pitch in games. Pirates' Thomas Harrington: Having shoulder examined
Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Wednesday that Harrington will be examined for a right shoulder injury, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Harrington had been scheduled to appear in the Spring Breakout series this week, but the injury will foil those plans. The 22-year-old was a first-round pick of the Pirates in 2022 and had an excellent first professional season, collecting a 3.53 ERA and 146:41 K:BB over 127.1 frames between Single-A Bradenton and High-A Greensboro....
