Edwards agreed to a contract Friday with the G League's Salt Lake City Stars, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Rather than looking overseas for work following his release from the Grizzlies at the conclusion of the preseason, Edwards will remain stateside and continue his career in the G League. Over his previous two seasons in the NBA with the Celtics, Edwards showed some scoring ability (average of 14.0 per 36 minutes in 68 games), but dreadful efficiency (37.2 field-goal percentage, 30.2 three-point percentage) and shortcomings on the defensive end cast doubt about his ability to succeed as a rotational guard at the game's top level.
