Payton (hamstring) has been ruled out for New York's two-game road trip that begins Wednesday.
Payton will miss out on games Wednesday in Detroit and Friday in Dallas while recovering from a right hamstring strain. His next chance to return will come Sunday against the Cavaliers. In the meantime, Frank Ntilikina will continue to see extended minutes at point guard.
