The Giants defense got an overhaul this offseason, which should lead to an upgrade for the DST this season. In 2015, the Giants DST was middle of the pack with 15 interceptions, 23 sacks, 12 fumble recoveries, six touchdowns and 442 points allowed. The sacks were third-worst in the NFL, and the points allowed were also third-worst. To fix that, the Giants threw a lot of money at Olivier Vernon, Janoris Jenkins and Damon Harrison, they kept Jason Pierre-Paul and drafted rookie cornerback Eli Apple at No. 10 overall in the first round. If Vernon and Pierre-Paul can play at a high level then this defense can significantly improve with the pass rush, especially with Jenkins, Apple and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie at cornerback slowing down receivers. There's room for improvement with this unit, but Fantasy owners don't need to invest a draft pick on them just yet. We consider the Giants DST a streaming option, and if they start out the season playing well then add them off waivers in the majority of leagues.
