The Bears placed Lucas (undisclosed) on injured reserve Tuesday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
After opting out of the 2020 campaign, Lucas was banking on earning a roster spot with Bears by displaying his special-team skills. Marqui Christian and Deon Bush will now compete for the backup safety spot behind Eddie Jackson.
