Hall knows he must elevate his game during his second year with the Devils this season, NHL.com reports.

With veteran center Travis Zajac (pectoral) out until mid-December, all eyes are on Hall to step up. Last season, the fiery scoring winger compiled 20 goals and 33 assists, which represented a 12-point drop compared to the previous season with the Oilers -- yet, to be fair, he missed 10 games largely due to a November knee injury. Hall is only 25 years old, but he's making a cool $6 million per year on the carryover contract from Edmonton. Health permitting, look for him to have an easy time eclipsing 200 shots this season, and he'll assuredly reprise his role with the No. 1 power-play unit.
