Hayes (abdomen) will need core-muscle surgery, which could take place in the next week, Sam Carchid of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
It was previously known that Hayes would require minor surgery this offseason, but this report clarifies the nature of his injury. This surgery isn't expected to impact Hayes' availability for the 2021-22 campaign.
