Staal (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Friday, per CapFriendly.
Staal is expected to miss 4-6 weeks, so he could eventually be a candidate for long-term injured reserve if the Flyers need cap space. Emil Andrae and Egor Zamula both figure to see larger roles while Staal is out.
