Islanders' Noah Dobson: Six points in last eight games

Dobson has three goals and three assists in his last eight games.

Dobson is likely the Islanders' most gifted offensive defenseman, especially with Ryan Pulock (lower body) still on injured reserve and out of the lineup. The Islanders need offense from any place they can get it, but especially from the defense as the trades of Devon Toews (Avalanche) and Nick Leddy (Red Wings) over the past two seasons have depleted that skillset from that group of players. Dobson will try to keep the offense going when the Islanders next play versus Leddy and the Red Wings on Wednesday.
