Seattle placed Carrick on waivers Thursday, Chris Johnston of TSN reports.
Carrick had six goals and 44 points in 63 AHL appearances with Providence last season. If he goes unclaimed on waivers, then he'll likely start the campaign with AHL Coachella Valley.
