The Panthers elected to leave Demers available for Wednesday's expansion draft, TSN reports.
Demers' exclusion from the list is a bit of a surprise given his recent long-term deal with the Panthers. However, the club elected to retain the services of four other defensemen instead. It's not guaranteed he will be headed to Vegas, but he's one of the top names made available for the Golden Knights in the draft and is coming off a 28-point season for Florida.
