Summers was placed on waivers by the Rangers on Tuesday in order to reassign him to the minors, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Summers came over to New York as part of the Keith Yandle deal back in March of 2015 and has played in just six outings for the Rangers since. Primarily used in AHL Hartford, the blueliner offers little in terms of offensive production, which extremely limits his fantasy value.
