Jones was reassigned to AHL Hartford on Saturday.
Jones needs to be playing and that was not the case with the Rangers, as he had been a healthy scratch in six of the last 11 games. The 22-year-old has a goal and an assist in 16 NHL games and will now get a chance to get plenty of ice time in the AHL.
