Vehvilainen inked a one-year contract with Brynas IF (Sweden) on Monday, Joshua Kloke of The Athletic Toronto reports.
Vehvilainen made his NHL debut this season for the Blue Jackets in a relief appearance. It was far from a stellar debut for the netminder as he gave up one goal on four shots for a 5.45 GAA and .750 save percentage. At just 24 years of age, the Finn could still make his way back to North America if he can put together a solid season with Brynas.
