Major League Baseball completed its 2020 amateur draft on Thursday night. The spread of the novel coronavirus required the draft to be held virtually instead of in Omaha, Nebraska alongside the College World Series. The owners' desire to slash costs, meanwhile, led to the draft being shortened from 40 rounds to five.

The Miami Marlins selected Max Meyer, a right-hander out of the University of Minnesota with the No. 3 overall pick. Meyer was R.J. Anderson's No. 5 overall prospect in his draft rankings. The Marlins added some other intriguing players in their draft haul and earned an A grade from our experts. Here's what we wrote:

The Marlins started their draft with a surprise, selecting Minnesota right-hander Max Meyer with the No. 3 pick. That turned out to be a preview of what was to come, at least in the sense that Miami then chose three other arms with premium stuff: Dax Fulton, Kyle Nicholas, and Zach McCambley. Those last three each carry significant risks -- Fulton underwent Tommy John surgery last year; Nicholas and McCambley could end up in relief -- but there's ample reward here if the Marlins' player development staff can work some magic.

Below you'll find all of the Marlins' selections.
