If coach Jim Harbaugh is driven out of San Francisco after this season, Raiders safety Charles Woodson has a good idea where Harbaugh should land next. And it's not Oakland.

Nope, Woodson thinks Harbaugh should coach at Michigan if he leaves the 49ers.

"If the choice was out there, it would definitely be Michigan," Woodson, a Wolverines alumnus, told the NFL Network's Rich Eisen. "As a guy who played there, the fans would love it. I think it'd be great for recruiting and all of that to have a guy who's proven. He's won everywhere he's been as a coach. I don't think it would be any different if he went to Michigan."

As you might know, Harbaugh's name has been tied to the Raiders job most of us assume won't go to interim coach Tony Sparano -- partially because it's believed Harbaugh wants to remain in the Bay Area. And even though the Raiders surprisingly beat the 49ers last Sunday, I imagine Oakland owner Mark Davis wouldn't mind hiring Harbaugh (even if San Francisco did steal the Raiders' dysfunction).

Woodson said he briefly discussed the matter with Harbaugh after Sunday's game but that Harbaugh's statement to him closely mirrored what Harbaugh would say in his press conference.

"I almost thought about getting into the conversation, but he gave me the same line he gave everybody at the press conference," Woodson said. "He brought up the well being of his team and the well being of his family. That's about as far as we got into it."

As for Harbaugh's odds to land at Michigan, Woodson is pretty sure that won't be happening.

"The way it sounds to me, it's not even that one in a million [chance]," Woodson said. "It doesn't sound too good.
