RB Adam Muema leaves NFL combine because God told him to
San Diego State running back Adam Muema left the NFL combine early because God told him to.
Not every player does every work out at the NFL combine. For instance, Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel decided not to throw on Sunday. A quarterback not throwing at the combine is actually pretty common, what's not common though is when a player doesn't participate in workouts because God told him not to.
That's what happened with San Diego State running back Adam Muema. Muema left the combine on Sunday without doing any of the drills that other other running backs participated in, according to UT-San Diego.
According to Muema, God has a plan for him and that plan involves Muema getting drafted by the Seattle Seahawks. Muema said that God told him that if he skipped the combine workouts, he'd get drafted by the Seahawks.
"Can't go wrong with God," Muema said. "He told me to sit down, be quiet and enjoy the peace." Muema told UT-San Diego that he communicates with God through numbers.
Speaking of numbers, Muema produced some decent ones at San Diego State. The fourth all-time lead rusher in school history rushed for 1,244 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2013. That total includes a 229-yard, three touchdown performance in San Diego State's 49-24 win over Buffalo in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
