The cool, calm nature of international music mogul Jay-Z would lead you to believe he might not offer a strong pep talk. On the other hand, half his job is getting people hyped up and just hearing him give you a shoutout would get the adrenaline going.
Witness his pep talk to Dez Bryant, a Roc Nation client no less, before the Cowboys-Giants game. It's perfectly Jay-Z.
"What we got? What we got boy?"
*Dez says something in embrace*
"Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah. Yeah all night. That's right."

The pep talk didn't work, however, because Dez had a pretty terrible game. The Cowboys' offense struggled overall for the second straight game, but Dez was locked down by Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins, managing only one catch, which he promptly fumbled.
Maybe no more pep talks from HOVA.
