The Angels announced Tuesday that Ramos suffered a torn capsule in his throwing shoulder and will miss the entire 2022 season, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Ramos will presumably need surgery to address the injury, which could prove to be a career-ender. The 35-year-old, who was attending camp as a non-roster invitee, has made just seven relief appearances in the majors over the past three years. The one-time All-Star reliever had already struggled to return to form since undergoing surgery in June 2018 to address a torn labrum, and the fact that he's dealing with yet another significant shoulder injury doesn't bode well for his chances of re-emerging as an MLB-caliber bullpen arm in the latter half of his thirties.
