Bedrosian (3-3) was charged with a blown save and the loss after surrendering three runs on three hits and two walks in the eighth inning of Sunday's 7-5 loss to the Astros. He struck out two.
Manager Mike Scioscia deployed his flamethrowing righty in the eighth inning with the top of Houston's order due up in a one-run game. Bedrosian actually struck out the first two batters of the frame before falling victim to three infield singles and a bases-clearing triple off the bat of Brian McCann. The 25-year-old still figures to be the best bet for save chances for the Halos, but his inability to pitch in back-to-back games coupled with Scioscia's unpredictable bullpen usage (five different relievers with saves this month) places Bedrosian in the lower tier of closers.
