Alford is in the starting lineup for his major-league debut Friday, batting eighth and playing left field, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Alford was called up as a reactionary move to Darrell Ceciliani (shoulder) landing on the disabled list, and although his stay may be brief, the Blue Jays will get the most out of the top prospect's stay in the big leagues. Alford will face Baltimore ace Chris Tillman in his first taste of the majors.
